There are now proposals in the U.S. to loosen restrictions on the synthetic THC, Marinol (dronabinol).

Marinol has a low potential for abuse. Its slow onset doesn't produce the same high that people get from smoking marijuana.

There also doesn't seem to be a street market for Marinol.
